Brazilian Maestro João Carlos Martins will be in Florida for a one-time performance of his Bachiana Filarmonica with members of the percussion section of Samba School Vai-Vai.
Audiences will experience what legends are made of when João Carlos Martins and his remarkable Bachiana Filarmonica Orchestra, with guest percussionists from São Paulo's Vai Vai samba school, bring the music - and the beat - of their native Brazil to the Broward Center’s Au-Rene Theater on September 22nd at 8:00 PM. An indomitable spirit who continued to perform even after his career as a pianist was derailed by injury, Martins has reinvented himself as a conductor, leading hundreds of performances worldwide.
